English

 

Through the use of English, literacy is taught fully throughout the school.  Pupils are taught to read using a variety of texts.  Pupils are taught to write stories that are interesting and exciting.  They are taught to be innovative and describe everyday objects.  Pupils are encouraged to use the environment at large to enhance their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

 

Mathematics

 

Mathematics is taught by using various strategies:

  • Working in groups
  • Working in pairs
  • Individual work

Science

This is topic based and pupils are encouraged to build on their interest and experiences in practical activities. We encourage pupils to use the senses observing carefully, ask questions to reflect on what they have discovered.

Information Technology

Pupils are taught to manipulate the computer.  They are taught to familiarize themselves with the computer and to understand that a computer has many uses and in not only for playing games.  Our focus is to integrate technology into all academic studies.
